Zeus Staff
Cost: 3000 GP
Weight: 4 lbs
Rarity: Rare
Attunement: Yes (Spellcaster)
A length of storm-blackened wood capped in fused bronze, the Zeus Staff carries a charge that never fully dissipates. Attuned spellcasters describe a faint, ever-present tension in the air around it, like the moment just before a lightning strike.
Thunderbolt Discharge (Requires a 2nd-Level Spell Slot).
As an action, you can expend a spell slot of 2nd level or higher to
channel the staff's charge. Make a DC 15 spellcasting ability check
(1d20 + your spellcasting attack modifier). On a success, the staff
unleashes a blast of lightning, dealing 3d6 lightning damage to a
target within 50 feet that you can see. On a failure, the magic
backfires and you take 1d6 lightning damage instead.
